Picture This Custom Framing is owned by Deb. A resident of Maitland and actively involved in the art scene, she prides herself in connecting with the communities through art and visual display.
Deb is passionate in providing affordable, quality Custom Framing. She prides herself in delivering a personal service, while building trust and genuine relationships with her customers. It’s not always business for Deb, for her, the reward is being a part of the collaboration process in creating something special. Debra is delighted to be able to expand her business, also offering the Mid North Coast her services in picture framing by opening a showroom in the central location Nabiac.
With applied continual effort in business management, Deb has succeeded in winning “Best Home-Based Business” in the 2023 Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards, and with a finalist position as BEST BUSINESS. In addition to this prestigious award, Picture This Custom Framing was also nominated and became a finalist with 4 others in the 2023 NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS.
Outside of framing, you might find Deb wandering through galleries and exhibitions, catching up with loved family and friends, or immersing herself in some sort of DIY home project. She is a hands-on, ‘I can do anything’ character who loves her garden, and home space and puts value into enjoying the genuine aspects in life.
Meet Ellen
Ellen has always been passionate about art and has forever found herself fascinated and enthused by its intricacies. She is a quirky and bubbly person who is keen for a friendly chat and is quick to make people feel welcomed.
Over the years, she has completed her advanced diploma in Fine Arts, and more recently her degree in Natural History Illustration. Throughout her studies, she has acquired a good eye for minute details, skills and knowledge in colour theory, and a wide understanding of compositional layout.
Ellen’s framing Journey began 5+ years ago. Since then, she completed her apprenticeship in picture framing. As a practicing artist herself, Ellen has an appreciation of what the right frame can do for an artwork.
Outside of framing, Ellen is often found immersed in her own artmaking practice, participating in creative workshops, visiting quaint cafes, or out in nature, exploring and admiring what it has to offer.
